In the heart of downtown Sturgis, this five-story mixed-use development is poised to ease the local housing crisis, enhance the area’s retail mix, and catalyze investment by making future development more economically viable. The new build should also generate new tax revenue, which may fund infrastructure improvements. The 5,000-square-foot ground floor retail space will feature a destination restaurant which will offer a disability employment program in partnership with GT Independence. The four floors above will feature 23 housing units, including studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments.

209 John Street State-of-the-Art Office Facility

This 12,000-square-foot office building was designed to support GT Independence’s continued growth as a financial management services provider and its initiative to create new pathway jobs in the long-term care industry. The company is a fiscal intermediary for people with long-term care needs or disabilities, assisting with all the details associated with hiring and employing caregivers. Root and Branch repurposed a former newspaper facility, fully renovating it to achieve an open-concept space. GT Independence employees now have ample room to work, from private offices to training facilities, to ensure their own professional growth and development.
